Hi, my name is Nancy, I have recently graduated in foreign languages, English and Spanish, at the University of Vercelli, in Italy. When I heard about the chance that the Institute IES Virgen de Las Nieves was giving, I immediately thought it would have been great for my future career. Each Erasmus experience is different, I have already participated at three Erasmus programmes and each of them has been special. |

Anyway, my Erasmus in La Palma...
...was not only a way to improve my Spanish, speaking with natives every day, but also a way to learn and to get amazed by the Canarian language. I have laughed so many times, trying to guess unknown words and hearing very strange ones!
.... was not only a way to try the Canarian food, but also a way to taste dishes from other countries. I didn't expect to meet people from USA, Germany, Venezuela, Cuba
...was not only a way to meet new people and to establish short-term friendships, but most of them keep being important!
...was not only a way to teach and to use my didactic knowledge that I acquired at the University, but also a way to learn that emotions and feelings are involved in a class and I need to consider them. Only active experience can help to understand it.
...was not only a way to be independent, but it is also an inner and deep growth. The chance to be really in touch with yourself, a process which helps you to understand that you are unique.
My list could be longer, but the truth is that have such experience is the only way to enrich yourself.
Moreover, La Isla Bonita and especially my dear friends of IES Virgen de Las Nieves were amazing, they made me feel as if I was part of their big "family". Each of them and everything that the Island offers, including its warm locals and its rich nature, made my Erasmus an unforgettable experience.
